SMU Computing & Information Systems Society, affectionately known as Ellipsis, is the student representative body of the School of Computing & Information Systems (SCIS).
At the heart of our mission is a dedication to nurturing a vibrant and supportive community through a three-dimensional focus on Academics, Professional Development, and Student Life. Through key events that bring students and faculty together, alongside welfare initiatives and career development opportunities such as networking sessions, we strive to support students both academically and beyond the classroom.

What We Do
Welfare Drives
Regular welfare drives are held to motivate and lift the spirits of SCIS students.
SCIS Day
SCIS Day is the biggest event organised annually by Ellipsis to celebrate SCIS' anniversary, which aims to foster strong camaraderie among the SCIS community, past and present.
Tech Series
Being one of Ellipsis' flagship events, Ellipsis Tech Series creates opportunities for all students to learn more about the IT industry through interactions with IT professionals across various sub-events held during the series.
Networking Sessions
Held in collaboration wtih DKHMCC, our networking sessions provide a conducive platform for students and industry partners to engage in meaningful interactions.
Company Visits
Company visits provide an effective way to explore various technological roles in real operating environments, allowing students to learn first-hand about the work culture of a company and the nature of an industry.
Workshops
Enriching workshops are conducted to incorporate new and fundamental concepts to students which assist them in their learning.

Ellipsis exists to bring the SCIS community together and create opportunities that empower students to grow beyond the classroom. As the 22nd Management Committee, our vision is to build a vibrant and supportive community where every SCIS student can develop academically, professionally, and personally. Guided by our four pillars: Academic, Professional Development, Social, and Welfare, we aim to deliver initiatives that support student success while strengthening connections within the SCIS community. From academic support programs to industry engagements and community-building events, Ellipsis strives to create meaningful experiences that enrich student life and prepare our students for the future.
